Thought I’d do a bit of an update with the Carisma brief and share some of my earlier logos. They’re all rough just some of quick ones I’ve made from sketches and doodles then decided for one reason or another that I don’t like it. The first one was one that I thought I’d end up using I’d wanted to use the typeface to create a community of people hence turing the ‘m’ into 2 people but then I realised that 2 people doesn’t suggest a community and it looks more like it’s a dating website or something the thickness of the ‘head-lines’ is rubbish as well obviously that would of have been sorted had I kept it. I quite like the typeface though, I’ve just altered nevis slightly. The next one was designed with the same principles in my connecting 2 people using the c and the a, I knew soon as I starting doing thing one that I wasn’t going to use it no only because it looks rubbish but I think it would end up having to be too big to be able to make out that its 2 people, also it looks really unbalanced, even though if taken further I would have made it look different it looks like the word has just decapitated 2 people ha and also it’s the same issue I had with the one above 2 people doesn’t say community! The next one obviously similar idea as the other 2 this time with 2 people shaking hands using the r and the i - didn’t realise until i’d done it that I definitely should of used the m, you sort of lose the ability to tell it’s an r with the terminal angled so far down. But I do think it says a lot more the fact they’re shaking hands sort of suggests a sort of peace. Next one same idea of the hand shake, again it’s the fact it only incorporates 2 people just doesn’t suggest a diverse community. The next one I really like, perhaps not in that format but kind of like the friends of the earth logo a simple hand drawn peace sign maybe as part of the eye but I think the hand drawn element suggest more one that belongs to people, the peoples peace….I’d have to play around with this a lot more none of the 2 on there I think are good enough to use but I like the feel. Next one’s are complete rip off’s of T-Magic’s work, I thought the idea behind some of his pieces had the same messages are carisma’s with that from bad can come good, from nothing can come something etc etc, I’ve just done these 2 really quickly but taking to colour away and they don’t work but nevertheless I think those rainbows / light spectrums could be used in the branding and I think because carisma have previously incorporated a kind of rainbow in their pervious logo it be a good idea to consider. Next ones I was looking at the ying and yang sign trying to change it to 3 elements that fit in a circle to suggest that all corners of the community can get one and work together to form a circle….but I just think it looks like a logo for a washing machine or recycling type company. The last one on here I know just terrible, I’ve do loadsa logo and don’t waste time making them all perfect soon as I see that they won’t work  I stop messing with them but again messing around with typeface at first trying to create a rainbom / arch with the c and a then lowering that and adding the city on it, the typeface looks dizzzzgusting but I thought it would be a good metaphor for suggesting carisma was the foundation of city and that if this idea was franchised the city skyline could change to incorporate landmarks etc for different cities and that would become that carisma’s new logo and would look amazing say at those peace conferences if carisma could display all the skyline logos for all the cities it was now working in.
