CARISMA LOGO. Playing catch up a bit here now, putting it up on the blog anyway so thought I’d do a mega post with all the developments on. Ok so this one came originally from an idea I had in my sketchbook of making a people skyline, little bit of a metaphor for how to community can shape the city they live in, plus all the people standing together for a visual alliance and all the different sizes etc represent the diversity within that community. So I took it into illustrator to try it out did it really quickly and realised I was gonna have to come up with a way to illustrate the people which made them recognisable as people so I developed a couple of ideas for them and as you can see the toilet man doesn’t work, because all you can see is the toilet guy, I liked the other style more the peg men…I did do them with arms sort of on but decided that it was too much detail and that you could still tell they were people without (well hopefully).
So as I started to put the peg men together thought I try a few different ways and I started to feel like you lost the skyline but I still thought it formed a interesting shape and a nice way to illustrate diversity and alliances…started to get a little carried away I really like the double sided one…I knew that it was too complicated and with the flip you stop seeing the shapes as people and as bubble things, I came up with the argument that it was a way to show how carisma could help people turn their lives around but at the end of the day theirs too much I think for a logo.
So took the shape from the 3rd picture on the bottom right which I thought formed a kinda wave which represents the way carismas work travels and changes the community, the people in the wave despite all being different - size, colour, etc - are all part of the wave moving with it etc.
